The Old Tonbridgian Society

A Tonbridge education is for life and the Old Tonbridgian Society is here to forge life-long links between former students with each other and the School.

With a community of more than 9,000 people across the world, all Old Tonbridgians are life members with access to the many benefits of the OTS. We organise a lively programme of events and activities, oversee a range of thriving sports clubs and offer opportunities to give and receive careers-related support. Central to this is Tonbridge Connect, our secure online platform for Old Tonbridgians to keep in touch with each other, help current students with careers support and build their own professional networks.

Keep an eye on this website for news and details of upcoming events. You can also see details and photos of some of our fabulous past events.

What We Do

Meet Gerald Corbett, OTS President

President of the OT Society, Gerald Corbett, is a former Chairman of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), a position he held from 2015 to 2021. Under Gerald’s leadership, the MCC approved an ambitious masterplan for the grounds, with an impressive 90.5% membership endorsement. His tenure saw the transformation of the Warner, Compton, and Edrich stands, an achievement that further elevated the club’s legacy.

A Judde House pupil (1965–1970), Gerald studied History at Cambridge and pursued Business Studies at London and Harvard Business Schools. Gerald’s career reflects a legacy of leadership, having served as director of 13 public companies, including key roles as Finance Director of Grand Metropolitan, Chief Executive of Railtrack, and Chairman of Segro, the UK’s foremost listed property company.

Beyond business, Gerald served as High Sheriff of Hertfordshire and chaired both the Hertfordshire Community Foundation and St Albans Cathedral Appeal. He lives in Hertfordshire with his wife, Virginia, artist, and their large family of four children and twelve grandchildren.

Get In Touch
Tara’s relationship with Tonbridge began 20 years ago when her husband Will Biddle (PH 76-81) joined the School in the DT Department. She supported Will and the rest of the house during his 15-year tenure as Whitworth Housemaster and joined the Old Tonbridge Society team in 2012. Since then, she has built up an extensive knowledge of everything Old Tonbridgian! Tara organises an engaging and inclusive events and communications programme, as well as managing the OT Magazine. She is always delighted to hear news and stories from our OTs across the world.
